Institutional features of Regulatory Agencies
On March 2018, the journal Regulation & Governance published the article “Agency proliferation and the globalization of the regulatory state: Introducing a data set on the institutional features of regulatory agencies” (Jacint Jordana, Xavier Fernández-i-Marín and Andrea C. Bianculli).
The article is based on a dataset on the institutional features of 799 regulatory agencies (RAs) in 115 countries and 17 policy sectors (data are from the year 2010). The dataset contains variables from their institutional profiles, covering a broad range of formal characteristics, encompassing variables about the agencies’ regulatory responsibilities, managerial autonomy, political independence, and public accountability, among others. This dataset is one of the main contributions of the GlobalReg project.
